Why Clear Cache and Cookies?
Clearing the cache and cookies are helpful, cache is a system of storing website data in your browser so that the page might work very fluently, you can feel the power of cache if you have a slow internet connection. The first time you will load any website takes a lot of time to load, but this becomes very faster after that. But in that case, sometimes this cache system becomes conflicting to the same website if the website's main fundamental has been changed and you have the old cache file. Then clearing the cache file will solve the website load issue or any issue.
Cookies are also important, cookies are the login information, if you logged in on a website, the logged-in information saved on the browser as a cookie, if your computer has multiple users, then clearing the cookies will help you to instantly log out from every website you visited by logging in.
Keyboard Shortcut for Most Browsers
If you are using Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox you can quickly clear cache with a keyboard shortcut. While in your browser, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete simultaneously on the keyboard to open the appropriate window.
IMPORTANT: Be sure and close/quit the browser and restart it after clearing the cache and cookies.
Google Chrome
- Select History Menu (three dotted lines in the upper-right corner).
- Select Clear Browsing Data from the left-hand side. Set the Time Range set to All Time. Check-mark Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files and select Clear Data.
- If on a Windows computer, close and re-open Chrome to save your changes. If on an Apple computer, go to the Chrome menu on the top menu bar and select Quit for the changes to take effect.
Google Chrome for iOS
- Open Google Chrome on your iOS device.
- Click on the menu toolbar in the bottom right corner.
- Click Clear Browsing Data at the bottom of the screen.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click on the Tools bar.
- Click on Options (On Mac, it's labeled Preferences).
- On the menu to the left, select Privacy & Security.
